{"id":78,"date":"2021-01-09T16:10:17","date_gmt":"2021-01-09T21:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/appledore.lndo.site\/?post_type=project_type&#038;p=78"},"modified":"2021-03-31T07:18:04","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T11:18:04","slug":"dry-dock-1-super-flood-at-portsmouth-naval-shipyard","status":"publish","type":"project_type","link":"https:\/\/www.appledoremarine.com\/projects\/dry-dock-1-super-flood-at-portsmouth-naval-shipyard\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Rhode Island Narragansett Bay Campus Pier"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>AME was selected through a competitive process to design a new academic research vessel docking facility at the University of Rhode Island\u2019s (URI) Narragansett Bay Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project includes an access bridge, pier, dolphins, and a seawater pumping facility. The pier will support a new research (200-ft LOA) vessel that is scheduled for delivery in 2022. URI\u2019s existing pier facility is almost 60 years old, is nearing the end of its useful service life, and is undersized to properly support the operations of the new, larger research vessel. This project includes removal of the existing pier and utilities, and construction of a new pier facility, upland approach regrading, and a new saltwater pump house facility to supply the URI\u2019s research laboratories with seawater. The project also includes a full suite of pier-side utilities to support the new vessel.
