Eric T. Levesque, PE, SE - Principal Engineer

Eric Levesque is a professional structural engineer dedicated to innovation, mentorship, and a passion for waterfront engineering.

Eric’s engineering journey began at the University of New Hampshire, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus in structural engineering. His academic pursuits soon translated into real-world experiences when he joined the team at Appledore Marine Engineering his junior year and was enrolled in a PADI Open Water Diver course. This early exposure allowed him to hone his skills, setting the stage for a remarkable career in waterfront engineering.

Today, with over two decades of experience in waterfront engineering, Eric’s portfolio includes a diverse range of projects on structures ranging from dry docks to floating docks. His wealth of experience, coupled with his years of involvement in construction administration and facility inspection, equips him with invaluable insights into what truly works in this field. He thrives on taking on unique and challenging waterfront projects, and his commitment to finding practical and durable solutions demonstrates his dedication to both the profession and his clients. Furthermore, his role as a mentor and teacher to younger engineers is a testament to his belief in nurturing the next generation of waterfront structural engineers.

In Eric’s own words, his philosophy is rooted in a commitment to lifelong learning and a willingness to listen to others. He is always eager to delve into codes and specifications, as well as understand the theories and basis of design. Eric’s career at Appledore has also been enriched by the remarkable culture that the company fosters, featuring a dynamic mix of interns, dedicated administrative staff, and a collaborative community of junior and senior engineers.

Eric is a registered Professional Engineer in New Hampshire, a Registered Structural Engineer in Washington, a Certified Commercial Diver, and a Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot. He is also a contributing author to the publication “Design of Marine Facilities” together with his colleague, John W. Gaythwaite, an effort that underscores Eric’s expertise and leadership in the field.

Did You Know? Eric was born and raised in a small town in New Hampshire and continues to enjoy small town living. He participates in monthly beach cleanups with his family (led by his daughter and her love of the ocean). Eric also started Appledore’s recycling committee and is currently the Commissioner of the company’s Fantasy Football League.
